Saludos,
efectivamente cambie el disco duro y funciono bien, salvo un problema que es
al arrancar las "X" a veces arranca y otras no, revise el xorg.conf pero no
reconoce la tarjeta grafica, se supone que las de intel esta bien
soportadas, bueno aca mando la salida de lspci y los datos de xorg.conf

Instalar ubuntu usando el HDD en otra máquina es
totalmente factible.
Después debe poder arrancar sin problemas. Lo otro es que hagas
instalación por red, no sé si tienes internet, pero San Google te puede
ayudar mucho a crear la instalación por red. Si no tienes avísame para
buscarte la doc.
