Hi all
I've got a comparatively minor problem using my Dell Latitude XPi:
occasionally when I quit X, the display will 'blank out' just as it
returns to console mode. By blank out I mean that the backlight gets
completely turned off, and it's impossible to turn it on again. However
if I (blindly) type startx then the display reappears as soon as it flips
back in to graphics mode.
This doesn't *always* happen when quitting X, only about 50% of the time.
Once it's happened, if I do want to use the console, I have to
CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart the machine.
System details:
Dell Latitude XPi (Intel Pentium @ 100 MHz)
Linux 2.0.35
XFree86 3.3.2
NeoMagic 2070 chipset using XFCom_Neomagic server
If anyone's experienced this kind of thing before and has a fix /
workaround I'd be most grateful.
