Hello I got the Suse Linux V6.0. I am using a Toshiba Satellite Pro Notebook 490XCDT. Everything is installed and seems to work fine. I got a 3com combi card (modem and lan) in the first PCMCIA slot. This is working without problems. Furthermore I intend to use an Adaptec 1480 slim scsi (pcmcia/cardbus?) controller. This is not recognised from the cardmgr. When the 1480 is inserted, no beep is given, and the slot is still shown as empty. I did read in the howto's, that for the APA1480 a modification should be done in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts. I tried a lot of things, but could not find a solution. May someone give me an idea, were I may continue the investigations? Which steps should I do, to get this card running?
