Dear all, I have a Yamaha YMF715e sound card in my Pico Consul laptop machine. The card is supposedly Soundblaster Pro 3.01 and MS Windows Sound System compatible but I cant get the damn thing working correctly under linux. Compiling the OSS sound system as modules sndconfig plays a very poor quality sound sample after selecting Soundblaster modules. When sndconfig attempts to finalise these settings a message sb: Interrupt test on IRQ5 failed - Probablr IRQ conflict is displayed. However /proc/interrupts does not show any device using IRQ 5 prior to running sndconfig. I'm sure that there is something I am not doing here, any pointers ??? Many thanks, Rob. /proc/sound shows OSS/Free:3.8s2++-971130 Load type: Driver loaded as a module Kernel: Linux localhost.localdomain 2.2.2 #15 Tue Mar 2 13:35:32 GMT 1999 i586 Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Card config: Audio devices: 0: Sound Blaster Pro (8 BIT ONLY) (3.1) Synth devices: 0: Yamaha OPL3 Midi devices: 0: Sound Blaster Timers: 0: System clock Mixers: 0: Sound Blaster
