Hi list,
I'm trying to get Red Hat 5.1 running on a Toshiba 4030 CDT (I'm
writing a page for the Linux on Laptops site while I do this). My
problems are:

        1) Display driver - a Trident Cyber 9525DVD, unsupported under the
XFree86 system that comes with Red Hat 5.1; I haven't tried any later
versions, but the XFree86 web page says it isn't supported yet. (Or
rather, it doesn't say that it *is* supported!)

        2) Internal modem - supposed to be a "fake COM2", works fine under
Windows 95, haven't tried it in DOS, but Linux 2.0.34 won't talk to it.
The modem is made by LT Microelectronics, and under Windows, seems to
require LTMODEM.VXD on top of the normal driver. I guess I might have to
write some initialisation code to bring it to life under Linux.

That's all I've found to be problematic yet - if anyone on the list has
any suggestions, example XF86Config files, etc., I'd be very glad to
hear about them!

        Kind regards,
        Matt Gumbley
