Hello, sunsite.unc.edu has a listing of linux distribution. Maybe there is a single-disk one that allows one to connect by the // port to a pc (wether linux or ms). Good luck, Etienne ps : I have a cd-less laptop, and installed linux before having ethernet, by 1) installing the basic debian from 4 dicks 2) loading on the ms partition whatever debian packages I needed, using laplink. This is ok, as long as you have a ms partition.
