Hello again.... I recently (20 minutes ago) mailed to the
list with an external mouse set-up problem... Moments later
I located a laptop page
http://www.undergrad.math.uwaterloo.ca/~p2kamins/Satellite2505cds.html
that has all I need to know. It works. This guy is a
genius... Too bad I found his page after a week of
dead-ends! :)

Anyway, in true list-posting fashion, I seem to have found
the answer to my own question. Sorry for the lameness...

Thanks again to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for his truly
informative page!

HI,

I have a Toshiba Satellite 2510CDS laptop which I am truly
happy with.

I have one problem.

Recently I have set up a small ethernet so I have been using
the laptop as a "workstation". Monitor, external keyboard,
etc work fine but I can't seem to get a mouse to work when
plugged into the ps2 port. I have tried both pointer-device
bios settings, "cold-booting", etc. I have also been reading
the HOWTOs and linux-laptop pages like mad but none of the
things I've tried will get that external mouse working.

I would particularly like to use the external keyboard and
mouse (using a ps2 Y-cable) at the same time.

Are there any amazing successes or stupendous failures which
you could relate?

I figure this is a non-model specific problem. Any info
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

rongen
