Hi all. I have a Tosh Tecra 780DVD and both a 3c589C and 3c589D, both of which fail to initialize correctly during the install. I read the Toshiba section of the linux-laptop home page, and it says there is some problems with irqs/io and this laptop. I've upgraded to the latest BIOS, and switched from CardBus to PCIC controller. Still no luck. The connector on the card turns green, and there is one "ok" beep, then a "failure"-like beep emitted. It goes on to report: IO port probe 0x1000-0x17ff: clean IO port probe 0x0100-0x04ff: excluding 0x220-0x22f 0x330-0x337 0x379-0x37f 0x388-0x38f 0x4d0-0x4d7 IO port probe 0x0a00-0x0aff: clean cardmgr[13]: initializing socket 1 memory probe 0x0d0000-0x0dffff: clean socket 1: 3Com 3c589D Ethernet executing: 'insmod /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/preferred/pcmcia/3c589_cs.o' RequestIRQ: Resource in use cardmgrp13]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable I believe the install use version 3.0.8. I tried to hack the pcmcia install floppy, but cannot find the 2.2.5-14BOOT source to compile it against, and the 2.2.5-15 source results in 'undefined references'. sigh. I was hoping to do a rush-job on this, and bring Linux with me to the expo... Thanks, Dave
