The same also happens on some IBM ThinkPads. I have no idea why unless
it's something like the BIOS failing to wake the soundcard up properly
when the machine is resumed. The solution seems to be to compile the
sound as a module, then remove it at suspend time and re-insert it when
the machine is resumed. You can get apmd to do this automatically. On
my machine I also get apmd to touch the floppy driver on resume because
that's another strange quirk with IBM machines.
