Hello linux laptoppers, (and frogger),
I have been lurking with interest and I seem to have had it easy
compared to the more vocal of this list. I installed RH5.2 to a
second partition on my Sony 737 VaioNote and it works fine. I still
have not tried to network due to the cost of the ethernet (CABLE) to
connect the 4-function PCMCIA, however I have used minicom to connect
to an ISP (an experiment I did not take much further then
connecting).
As for the Mesa thing I have installed it and even managed to start
the exercises in the OpenGL programming guide using Mesa. (Now I can
draw hundreds of teapots in pretty colours). It did take some
experimenting with a makefile of my own design as I could not get
xmkmf to work.
If you are confused at this point I am just saying that I could
supply the makefile for whoever NEEDS it. When I next bring it in to
the office.
Mark R.
P.S. Frogger I hope you are using nessie sensibly, we seem to
geographically close.
