Brian, you are a hero.  I just upgraded to the A3 BIOS, and the
stuttering during MP3 playback has at last gone from the ALSA driver.
So, as far as I can see, the ALSA driver is now fully functional
(haven't tried the microphone yet; heck, I don't even know where it is
:-).

To all the ALSA guys: fantastic work!  Thanks a million :-)

This is true of all 390Es; it's the 390 that has a NeoMagic
sound card, I believe.
