Modem settings

All,

I have RH5.2  2.0.36 installed on my Toshiba laptop.

Is there any way of "detecting" the com port of the PCMCIA Modem I have
installed, purely through linux?

Also can I assume that PCMCIA is set up correctly because my Ethernet Card
is working fine?
