On a Toshiba 4005CDS (Pentium II 233)

Anyone know a remedy for the "hard to find" cursor problem on LCD
screens.
Only a problem when running in console (character) mode.
I sometimes find it very difficult to find the darn cursor on the tty
or esp in an app like emacs of vi.
Are there any trick ways to enlarge or color the cursor for easy
visibility?
