Hello linux-laptoppers!
I notice several people think the Sony works well with hibernation.
Although I have had no problems with my PCG-737 running linux, if I
leave it alone for more than an hour (running a CPU intensive fluid
simulation) first the screen blanker activates and then hibernation
occurs. I admit I have not tested it thoroughly (I do not know truly
if the simulation completed before hibernation) but bringing the
machine back to life is a problem leaving me with a blank screen.
A hard reboot followed by fsck being my only solution for this.

When I configured RH5.2 I only had 32MB on board, but I still
partioned the disk with 130MB hibernation space. Now I have 96MB do I
need to recompile the kernel? (2.0.36 I never changed this ever).

I still have not been successful using the COMONE 4-way modem card,
although at a friends house I was able to dial Demon once (a UK
ISP) using minicom. I have not been able to repeat this.

Overall I like the Sony VaioNote and was pleased how easily Linux fit
onto it. I just need some advice on those 'extras'.

Thanks for reading so far,
MarkR
