intuos (wacom) and linux

I cannot seem to get my tablet working under caldera openlinux 2.2

I have altered my XF86Config file thus:

Section "Module"
    load "xf86Wacom.so"
EndSection

Section "Xinput"
    SubSection "WacomStylus"
        Port "/dev/ttyS1"
        DeviceName "Wacom"
    EndSubSection
EndSection

This does not have any effect, what am I doing wrong?
the module is present in the default location, and i have tried Port
"/dev/ttyS0"
