Have a problem with the boot record at block 0. This apparantly
resulted when I had a fine Slackware installation on this hard drive and
accidentally :( formatted the wrong removable drive (one of two). The
second drive works fine - am using the machine in question to write this.
It is a FOSA 486-66 and on this drive I have OS/2, Windoze 3.1 and
MiniLinux. Rarely use OS-2.

I have tried a number of things. Installed MS-DOS and OS/2. Each
time no boot. It starts with LI and hangs. Lilo was destroyed and a bit
remains. I have tried different boot and root disks made from about five
different versions of Slackware. The latest one I downloaded recently to
obtain a later version of fdisk (a suggestion from this very source to
solve a different problem on another machine). This one hangs when the
root disk is installed and started and hangs with the message:
Minix filesystem at block 0.

Installing MS-DOS, OS/2 and using fdisk and repeated formats
fail to remove this bit of undigested beef at block 0!

Any assistance will be much appreciated.
