Hello all,
I have a laptop (Sunrex HB850AGP) on which I could never get the APM
working correctly: when I compiled the kernel with APM support, I had either
to unable the APM support in BIOS setup or to give a "APM=OFF" at boot time,
otherwise the system hanged at boot time (I tried kernels 2.2.12 and 2.2.14).
I was glad to see that a new APM patch was issued and I tried it (patch:
2.2.14-APM.3.gz from http://linuxcare.com.au/apm/2.2.14-APM.3.gz)
The kernel recompilation went OK, but when I reboot with the new kernel
the system hangs, even if I specified "apm=off" at boot time . It gives the
following message:
Loading Linux .......................
Uncompressing Linux ...
crc error
-- System halted
From dmesg run on kernel 2.2.12 (started with apm=off) I noticed the
following information:
apm: BIOS version 1.2 Flags 0x0b (Driver version 1.9)
Has anybody experience similar problem having APM to work and could help
me?
Thanks in advance,
Gerald Carrier.
