       Well, this may or may not help to much but I've always avoided
       the eth0 not initialized error by making it deactived at
       startup. If you go into RedHat's "netcfg" panel and select the
       interfaces panel, edit eth0 so the "Activate interface at boot
       time" checkbox is unselected and the "Alow any user to
       (de)activate" is selected. You can also edit the ifcfg- files
       by hand to do the same but I don't recall exactly where. Then
       on boot up if you want to activate the card type in "ifup eth0"
       or you could throw this into your login script to do the same
       automaticly. Seems to work fine with my Linksys 10/100 +56K
       Lanmodem. The loopback should be there by default and always
       activated so XFree86 will work fine. Hope this helps.
