I recently purchased a Webgear Aviator 2.4 wireless lan kit that contains
two PCMCIA cards and two ISA adaptor cards with the intent of giving myself
the ability to roam about the house and back yard and still have internet
connectivity with my laptop. This card is supported in the latest version
of PCMCIA. After compilation and installation everything SEEMS to be working,
(two beeps and all that) but I am a little bit at a loss as to how to
best configure the resulting network.

The desktop now has active network interfaces (eth0 which is a tulip
ethernet card) that handles connectivity with one other desktop workstation,
(and the laptop if I use an ethernet card in it) and eth1, which is the
wireless LAN card. The ethernet card is assigned to 192.168.0.1. Also attached
to the desktop is a modem which I use in conjunction with diald and ppp
and IP masqing to make my internet connection. The other desktop is set up as
192.168.0.2, and the laptop (when equipped with ethernet) is set up as 192.168.0.3.

What I need to know is whether I have to or should establish a separate subnet
for the wireless segment; or if it should be configured as part of the
192.168.0.x network. Pointers to the best book in this area would also be
appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
