Personally I go with this theory for clean installs: Install Windows
last.

Purely because the windows installers seem to prefer that. So for ease,
I'd put Linux in hda1, partitioning so that there is enough space for
hda2 to take 98 and hda3 to take NT, then install 98, then NT. If you
do it the way I mentioned then you will have a slight pain changing
around which OS you boot into, but only slight, and only until you work
out the lilo.conf settings.

However, I've just been playing with RH6.1 today and it doesn't seem (1)
to enable me to play with the logical partitioning as I would expect
(created hda5,6,7 instead of using hda2,3,4), so there may be some
subtlety I'm missing. Suck it and see!

Further to this, it won't boot up after install on my test (laptop -
Acer Extensa - anyone help?) machine. I get a gpf on boot. Can anyone
make any suggestions? There were absolutely no errors reported at
install-time.

Cheers,
Justin.
