       Does printtool find an open lp port or does it say they are all
       "Not detected". This was a problem with earlier RedHat
       distributions and may still be due to a missing line in
       /etc/conf.modules (I use parport compiled in so it doesn't
       affect my RH 6.1). Try adding the line "alias parport_lowlevel
       parport_pc", this tells the kernel to use the parport_pc driver
       for low level port access (as aposed to the SUN driver, etc.).
