Question for you, when you go under usr/sbin/sndc(something, but if you tab it will come up) do you see the option for the Crystal drivers?  If not you will need to re-compile your kernal.  I know under the 2.2.14 kernal, there is an opition for a Crystal driver.  That is what I am using for my Crystal card, but it is an "ISA card".  If that Crystal driver does work for you, I have found a problem with it, at least with my system, you will need to run the /usr/sbin/sndc... everytime you reboot your system, other wise when you try to play back a file, it will be played back at an extremely slow speed, it reminds me of the sound windows makes when you are killing it (gee like that is hard to do).
