A small but extremely irritating problem: I run Redhat 6.1 on my VAIO
Z505RX. Often when typing rapidly in emacs my text entry point jumps to
whever the mouse cursor sits. The problem seems to be my thumbs
accidently touch the touchpad. I have tried repeatedly to turn off the
touchpad (for tapping) from the Windows partition, as well as telling it
to be inoperable when typing. Whenever I reboot in Linux, however, the
problem returns.

Does anyone know how to turn off the touchpad tapping for good? Is there
a way to do so from within Linux?
