Hi. I'm trying to get this right this time. :-)

The machine I'm working on has kernel sources 2.2.14; it's the Storm
Linux dist (prettified Debian) from Maximum Linux mag.

I've been trying to figure out how exactly to include rebuilding
pcmcia-cs modules at the same time as the kernel.

  - Can I use pcmcia-cs-3.1.8 with kernel 2.2.14? Debian used
     to include pcmcia-cs, pcmcia-modules, and pcmcia-source,
all numbered for specific kernels; I can't find pcmcia-source
anywhere. Does pcmcia-cs include source now?

  - I installed pcmcia-cs from the Stormix dist (I think), and I
can't find any /usr/src/modules directory. Why is that?

  - The upshot of what I've read says to unzip pcmcia-cs in
/usr/src/modules. tar says it's going to create a directory
     named /usr/src/modules/pcmcia-cs-3.1.8. Will that directory
name work, or should I create a symlink pcmcia-cs -->
     pcmcia-cs-3.1.8?

  - One story I've read says to do:

         make-kpkg --revision yadayada modules_image

      Another one says to:

         debian/rules binary-modules

Which one is correct? Okay, which one's better then?

  - Is it true that the pretty Stormix splash screen disappears for
good when you recompile Storm kernels? I'd like it to hang
around, personally (during the times I'm running xdm (kdm?) at
      least).

  - What's the best way to temporarily disable xdm (kdm?) on Stormix
(note that it's NOT a runlevel change in Debian)? This thing
seems to take forever to bootup.

  - Do any of you know why Storm doesn't bother to include
      kernel-package? Just wondering.

Thanks all.
