This is my first post on the list :o)
Have a problem with PCMCIA cards. I use Slackware 3.3F on an old Compaq Contura Aero.
The problem started when I thought I'd use the PCMCIA port with an Ethernet card.
Cardmgr was already configured to start at boot, so I just inserted the card,
booted.... and at the moment cardmgr did a mem_probe the machine rebooted immediately,
not closing any process or unmounting any FS.
Booted without the card inserted, everything fine. Inserted the card, brutal reboot
again.
Thought I'd specify mem_probe=0 and I did. Now the machine no longer reboots when I
insert a card (any card actually), but freezes totally.
Anyone had an experience they still remember with the old Aero?
