I installed the distro "Giotto" onto my laptop, I then installed a new
kernel, it was running a 2.0.37 kernel, I couldn't get that to work with
pcmcia so I compiled on my desktop kernel version 2.2.14 then copied the
kernel, modules, and pcmcia package over to the laptop and installed it in
lilo, it will boot up but it has problems loading modules. I fixed the
problem with it not having a modules.dep, but now whenever I try to load a
module it gives the complaint of "kernel version not found" and doesn't load
the module. what is it looking for? a file in a certain dir for getting the
kernel version? a variable with the kernel version? I need to get this
running so I can use the pcmcia net card that I have. any help out there?
