Hullo all,
Having recently installed a linux os on a sony pcg f400, i have noticed
that the system seems very slow. indeed, it seems to thrash the hell out
of the hard drive when performing fairly common tasks - one notable
example is loading Netscape.
Could this be to do with the amount of mem allocated to it in the
installation process?
here are a list of details.
processor: P466
64 ram
6.0 gig h/d
Within Linux:
Mem:62960k av 55272k used (7688k free) 24044k shrd 13112K buff
Swap: 65532k av, 21352k used, 44180k free
18256kcached
***********
Not sure if this is what you need but it all came from the "top" command
from within Konsole.
Any advice would be very very much appreciated as it is driving (geddit)
me mad.
Thanx,
Si.
