hi, i have redhat 6.1 in my laptop i use fvwm2 as my window manager the machine does not have an LED for the caps lock key. since i am not a very good typist, this drives me crazy, especially when i am in vi (actually i use vim) i would like to have a little widget thingy that displays a button somewhere on my root window, turning the button red when caps are on. (default could be green or black, etc.) for that i guess i would need to snoop on my keyboard state. I guess i would be trying to do something like what xev does, and look for the key press event for caps lock. i tried to find the source code for xkbevd, but no luck. Any ideas on what to do ? thanks -josin _________________________________________________________________________ In Heaven there will be no DOS, no Intel, and above all, no Bill.
