OK, long shot but this should be working and doesn't.
I am using the Netissimo ADSL service at home in France. Works great with
Windows. Trying to get it to work for my RH 6.1 with a 2.2.16 kernal,
HelixCode Gnome/KDE.
Using pppd and pptp-patched-1.02
ifconfig eth0 is set to 10.0.0.10 and then I pptp 10.0.0.138. tail shows
that it connects and acquires the the local and remote IP addresses. I can
only seem to ping the local however. Simply will not resolve the host. Does
it automagically with Windows.
Why will it not resolve addresses or ping out? The only thing I can think of
is that I have already configured the eth0 interface for the network at work
and it doesn't like the resolver entires already in there.
Can anyone give me a hand here? Any ideas? I'm stumped and France Telecomm
won't support Linux though they will say you can get it to work. =}
Thanks and ciao!
Daryl.
