I'm looking to install Linux on an old 4Mb Compaq Aero thats just gathering dust at the moment. I've seen a few sites on how it can be done, but they all seem to be about installing new versions of linux on old laptops. (Great instructions on how to install RedHat6.1 on an old Compaq - but is it really worth it?) Can anyone recommend what version I should go for? I'm only planning to use it for telnet / email and so on, so what's going to be a good performance / easy installation compromise. s.
