Event 9.11.01: Linux anywhere! (in Neuch�tel)

GNU/Linux is a free/libre operating system that has found an impressive
number of applications: from embedded systems to network control, from
servers to desktop. The goal of this conference is to give a general and
view on the diverse applications of Linux in places which aren't generally
known, and require high reliability or specific developments. Also, it
will give interested companies and individual an opportunity to discuss
with specialists.

Presentations:
   Georges SCHILD, Ascom AG

      The CFF/SBB ticket machines run SCO UNIX. There is an ongoing
      project to use Linux instead. The reasons to choose Linux instead of SCO UNIX
      or a proprietary embedded OS will be explained.

   Julien LINDER, Bytec Engineering AG

      PC-104 reimplementation, with Motorola Coldfire 5307 (m68k)
      processor, for phone central accounting. This is a hardware and software
      development. The reasons for choosing the PC104 plateform, Linux and
      the Dragonball processor will be explained.

      MIPS and Linux-based Ethernet switch.

   Marc SCHAEFER, SFI Technology Services AG

      Linux in an AS/400, providing basic Internet/intranet services in a
      multisite customer architecture. The reasons for using Linux on
      AS/400, the basic architecture and the projects and solutions will
      be presented. This is a project that is still being implemented.
