Um... Did you miss the part where I said intel + (radeon | nvidia) didn't work? :)

Granted, the !intel part being a pcie card in a laptop docking station may have thrown a wrench in the works.

Kernel modesetting is also likely complicating things, but Dave Airlie says that should be mostly worked out soon by way of the new vga-arb code, iirc...
