I've had two experiences with Clearwire so far - one in Tukwila in 2007, one
in Northgate in 2008. Both have been identical - 2% packet loss at the
second hop (not the first, meaning there was no radio link problem).
Escalating the problem with tech support got me absolutely nothing. No idea
if they've fixed it by now.

At least back then, they did not block incoming SSH or IPSec, and their
modem worked just fine with my Linux router (it plugs in via ethernet just
like a cable modem or DSL modem). A little bit of browsing on their website
shows they do have a static IP option, but only if you don't plan to be
mobile.
