I just got a Touch, which at least at first I don't want to jailbreak. It's the 8 GB model, so it has the second-generation firmware.
It looks like tools like amarok can't use this model at all, and it looks like gtkpod can't mount it without jailbreaking. Is there any possibility of making it visible in RHEL 4 or 5? If I did jailbreak, and was interested only in having a mounted volume, would it be easiest to just ignore iTunes knockoffs like amarok and set up an ssh server on the Touch? Billy
