I've just installed DOSEMU and am trying to get a program to run (Dance of
the Planets, an excellent astronomical package). I have installed the
latest stable precompiled binaries (with builtin Freedos) exactly as the
instructions specified, in a subdirectory of my home directory, and I'm
running xdosemu as an ordinary user (and have run several programs
succesfully). When I try to run dance.exe, however, it comes right back
at me with the message "Run from local drive or purchase a network
license". I looked through the documentation and the archive for this
list, and saw that this could be a problem with lredir'ed drives -- but
the proposed solution (if it is even applicable to this situation and the
latest release of dosemu/freedos) contained the phrase "hence destroying
the partition" (!) so, since I didn't entirely understand the solution, I
thought better of trying it. Any tips or guidance?

Cheers, Robert.
