No you don't.

lredir d: linux\fs/mnt/d

assigns drive d: to the partition mounted on /mnt/d. If you don't have
read/write access there as normal user, then that's a linux problem and
the permission are setup so you don't have r/w access under linux
either.

See man mount and man fstab.

For _direct_ partition access you need root, but then the partition has to
be unmounted first.
