XDos cannot run in full screen (unless you don't run a window manager
and run the screen at the same res as the program you are running in dosemu).
What you probably want is console dosemu i.e. run the "dos" or "dosemu"
executable in a virtual console (press CTRL+ALT+F1). It requires root access
but is much faster than xdos.
Note that a bug in dosemu 1.0.2 prevents you from running dosemu as root.
