You might just be able to add one blank pixel vertically and scrap a
horizontal one wrt the vga11x19 font. Or is that too ugly?

Another alternative, if the monitors and the video cards can do it, 
is to construct an 880x570 mode (or so) using the 
XFree86-Video-Timings-HOWTO.
