CTRL+Fx works in the correct configuration.  And the version number information
is nice, BUT!. 

Please walk us through how you are running dosemu.  dosemu runs in a
number of environments that are very hostile to emulation, where it
provides a lot but not all of the functionality, of dos.

Then we can help to answer question like:

It sounds to me like you are running dosemu in terminal mode where it
doesn't really support graphics, and the keyboard emulation is good
but limited.
