You'll have to remember that though DOSEMU is not totally emulation, it still runs slower than native DOS. This doesn't matter on a 1.5GHz machine so much, but it will on a 386/486. As far as Linux goes, I see too many people trying to resurrect dead PC's by putting the latest copy of Red Hat or SuSE on them. These OS's have �Advanced� much in the same way as the M$-Windows world. They've gotten more bells and whistles, they've been optimized for more modern processors, and they've gotten face lifts to rival the complexity of Windows XP.
