You could try an updated freedos - www.dosemu.org has pointers.

You could also use IBM PC-DOS in dosemu - just copy the ibmbio.*,
ibmdos.*, command.com from IBM to the directory where FreeDOS's
kernel.sys is now, and delete kernel.sys.
