yes tried patch. does not help at all, like wifes brother. should I say that in galacta, if more than one special (ins ctrl alt) key is pressed it will dosemu freeze, rather than just with ctrl+ins, so to say i can press ctrl with alt (to do shield and fire at same time, very useful) and same thing will work. (so problem not just with ins) have you tried galacta? i think my computer 486SX/40 is too slow for dosemu, maybe. run as root does the same, no different. happy new year to all.
