that's the thing, i have the same problem as running 8086 dosminix in xp and winme
like this is what happens when i try to recompile kernel...
# cd /usr/src/tools/
# make all
cd ../kernel && exec make - all
cd keymaps && make - all
cc -DKEYSRC=\"french.src\" genmap.c
make: Couldn't execute /bin/sh
make in /usr/src/kernel: Exit code 1
make in /usr/src/tools: Exit code 1
i think it's a memory issue... i cant even recompile the kernel... i think it may be due to the 8086 distribution, that's why i was trying to get 386 one to work.

you'd need the i8086 dosminix. You might also need to use F3 to enable
software scrolling.
