i'm trying this as root. This is also with vgetty running concurrently. I have always been able to do this before so I know it's possible. the vgetty log even says something like "junk on the line - could be a dial out program without proper locking - check this!" when I run the modem program and type ATA. Also, can anyone verify that the standard locking directory is /var/lock or /var/lock/subsys?

Under 1.1.5 it was locked for user, and I could only run it as root. > > - > To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-msdos" in > the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html > - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-msdos" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
