Let me guess - you haven't run './setup-hdimage' to create a boot image
using your own (pre-)installed version of DOS.
The FreeDOS kernel, as supplied with DOSEMU does NOT support Network
Drives, which means that 'lredir' DOESNT (and indeed CANNOT) work. You
need a version of DOS as distributed by Microsoft, IBM, Novell or Caldera
for this.
The only method which works with the FreeDOS kernel is direct access (with
all the potential problems that brings)
