Hi,

now it's time to try dosemu (0.98.1) with an older version of cosmos
(1.65)... Unfortunately, I get the following error message:

N:\PROBA>modstar

N:\PROBA>echo off

The 386 chip is currently executing in virtual 8086 mode under the control
of another program. You must turn off this other program in order
to use 386ŚDOS-Extender to run in protected mode.

What should I do?

Btw, I try to run cosmos 1.71 and 1.75 too. Using cfig386 (a dos program
to set some PharLap switch) I could get to start the geostar part of 1.71
fine. However, when I tried to make computations it crashed with:
*ERR* MO-02 dynamic memory exhausted

With v_1.75 I haven't got even such `success', it only said:
not enough space available

May be the reason of both error is the same, but the later version of the
program checked it at first.

I have the following lines in dosemu.conf:
> $_xms = (16384)
> $_ems = (16384)
> $_ems_frame = (0xe000)
> $_dpmi = (16384)
> $_dosmem = (640)
> $_hardware_ram = ""
    ^^^ what's this?
