what mtools version do you have?

also, my otpions in /etc/mtools.conf are:
MTOOLS_SKIP_CHECK=1
MTOOLS_LOWER_CASE=1
MTOOLS_NO_VFAT=1
partition=1
offset=128

As loop? Now, this one can't handle wholes and truncated files
(the hdimage's tail isn't part of the file as long as its not used.
It will grow over the time).
