... caused by an INTERRUPTED TRANSFER. I should have thought that
'Transfer Interrupted' was FAIRLY obvious. You need to RELOAD the page.
Depending upon your configuration you may also have to:
1) Clear your browser disk & memory cache
2) Disable your PROXY (if IT has the corrupted copy)

Once you get an INTERRUPTED TRANSFER nothing works correctly ...

No - you are wrong....

You should read more carefully - not just about HTML, but also JAVASCRIPT
(aka ECMASCRIPT) AND browser compatability.
1) Javascript will ignore ANYTHING after the //
2) Some browsers FAIL to find '-->' if it not SEPARATED by white space from
ANY preceeding content
3) There have been reports of browsers that FAIL to find '// -->' as well.
