Problems using MS-DOS existing partitions

I've got some trouble accessing to MS-DOS partitions
in dosemu. Files misteriously disappear, or become
duplicated, or some other strange things occur. I
would like to know what is the correct form of
accessing safely to these partitions without the
posibility of losing data.
