A DOSEMU developer (Alistair Macdonald) also had troubles with a Voodoo
card (the Voodoo Banshee). I've produced a patch for cooperation with
svgalib, (the newest version of svgalib, 1.4.2, has some DOSEMU support,
but from the DOSEMU point of view it's in development; we only know it
works with Riva128, TNT2 (nv3) and SiS cards), but it did not work for
Alistair. So I'm pessimistic about Voodoo 3 as well. We still need to
figure out what is wrong.
OTOH, xdos (under X11) works with a lot of graphics programs. If you
upgrade to dosemu 1.0.1 then you are also able to execute 16-colour
(planar) graphics programs under xdos, albeit slowly, since it has to use
CPU emulation. 256-colour/higher/monochrome/CGA modes don't need this CPU
emulation and they run much faster under xdos.
